Privacy

What the site collects—and what it does not.

Terrarium Guide collects information when someone chooses to use the contact form. It also uses Google Analytics to understand page visits and selected outbound-link activity. Advertising is not active at this stage.

Information you choose to send

The contact form asks for an email address, a topic, and a message. A name is optional. We use this information to read and respond to the request, investigate a correction, handle a privacy request, and protect the form from misuse.

Contact submissions are stored in the site’s Cloudflare D1 database. The form does not ask for an account password, payment information, precise location, or sensitive personal information. Please do not include those details in a message.

Technical information

Cloudflare provides the site’s hosting, network delivery, and security services. Like most hosting providers, it may process request information such as an IP address, browser details, timestamps, and requested pages to deliver the site and detect abuse.

Terrarium Guide does not intentionally save an IP address or browser user-agent with a contact submission. A short-lived, one-way representation of an IP address may be held in server memory to limit repeated form requests; it is not written to the contact database.

Cookies, analytics, and advertising

Terrarium Guide loads Google Analytics 4 when a page opens to measure page views. There are currently no affiliate links on the site. If they are added, selected outbound clicks may also be measured to understand how those links are used.

The analytics events sent by this site do not include contact-form names, email addresses, message contents, or URL query parameters from affiliate destinations. Google may process device, browser, approximate location, referral, and interaction information under its own terms and privacy practices.

Visitors can use browser privacy controls, content blockers, or Google’s available controls to limit analytics technologies. Cloudflare may also use essential security technologies when needed to protect and deliver the site.

If Google advertising is introduced, third-party vendors including Google may use cookies or similar identifiers to select and measure ads. Readers will be given links to the relevant advertising controls and opt-out information at that time.

Sharing and retention

We do not sell or rent contact-form information. It may be processed by Cloudflare to host and secure the site, or disclosed when reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect the site, or address fraud and abuse.

Contact submissions are reviewed and deleted when they are no longer needed for the conversation, a correction record, security, or legal obligations. The project does not yet promise a fixed deletion schedule; this notice will be revised if a formal retention schedule is adopted.

Your choices

You can browse the current public pages without submitting the contact form. To ask what contact information is associated with your email address, request a correction, or request deletion, choose “Privacy request” on the contact form. We may need to verify that the address belongs to you before acting.

This site is intended for a general audience and is not designed to collect information from children. If you believe a child sent personal information through the form, use the same privacy-request route so it can be investigated.

Changes to this notice

This page will be updated when the site’s actual data practices change. A new tool will not be treated as covered merely because it is mentioned as a future possibility here.
